Prayer shawls offer a tangible symbol of love and caring to those in need of our prayers.  A prayer shawl wraps around someone like a big hug.  It is our hope that those who receive a prayer shawl may see it as a reminder that their church family cares about them and is remembering them in prayer.

Prayer shawls surround those suffering illness, depression, loneliness or other difficulties with love, care and concern.  Prayer shawls may also celebrate new babies, weddings, new ministries or other happy occassions.

Making a prayer shawl can be mediatative and serve as an important part of personal spirituality and prayer life for the crafter.  The opportunity to provide a gift of love, made with love and prayers for someone in need.

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church is dedicated  to sharing God's love for all the people through knitting, crocheting or sewing prayer shawls and blankets.  We are a new ministry (2025) at Redeemer and evolving, learning and growing as we gather together every other month to share ideas, prayer needs, fellowship and work on our projects.

Anyone that enjoys knitting or crocheting and would like to join us, is welcome to our meetings.  Patterns can be as simple or elaborate as you like; the focus is on "spreading God's love".

Please see our church calendar of events for this group's next meeting.
